| Trekking in Nepal and Tibet |
Nepal is a visually stunning country in south Asia. Locked within the rugged ranges of the Himalaya, Nepal is
bounded by Tibet to the north and
India to the south, east and west. It was cut off from the rest of the world
until the early 1950s, when a palace revolution and the subsequent overthrow
of the autocratic Rana dynasty marked the beginning of Nepal's emergence
into the modern world. Kathmandu is the capital and largest city.
Eight of the world's fourteen 8000m peaks are in Nepal, and these and other magnificent and famous mountains can be viewed from the extensive track system
that we use to travel in our country. In addition to the mountain panorama, trekking is the ideal way to learn about our culture and way of life.
We offer a wide range of trekking expeditions from 7 to 45 days, mostly in Nepal, but also in Tibet which shares many Himalayan mountains with Nepal. Options include
trekking to the advanced base camp on the Tibetan side of Sagarmatha - Mt Everest or to the Sagarmatha - Mt Everest base camp on the Nepalese side,
Annapurna Circuit and Centenary treks, exploring east Nepal around Makalu or the Langtang Valley.
