Rafting in Nepal : Kali Gandaki River

The Kaligandaki is Nepal’s most holy river. Its is named after the goddess Kali, the Goddess of destruction. Rising in the mystical region of Mustang it drops off the roof of the world and carves out the deepest gorge in the world. Your adventure is set against the backdrop of the Annapurna range with Dhaulagiri and Annapurna east passing in and out of view. With sixty rapids over sixty Kilometers the Kaligandaki is a thrill a minute! There are no warm up days on this river, you are straight into the action with bumpy, fast, medium level rapids challenging you at every turn. At high water the Kaligandaki is a grade 4-river build to remind you that you are alive.

We join the river high in the mountains either at Baglung or Beni Bazaar depending on weather you are doing the 3 or 4 days option. We call this trekking without getting blisters as we follow the popular trekking route before swinging south into wilderness. As you roar past villages perched high on river terraces you will hear the melodic calls of Namaste from the children. In the evening explore insolated villages, shower under warm waterfalls or watch the Kayakers play boating. For those with more time, why not combine trekking with rafting by flying to Jomsom and trekking through the gorge to meet us.
