Rafting in Nepal : Marshyangdi River
Marshyangdi River Adventure
From easy drifting Blue rivers to great white water Challenges
What thrills rafting teams on the Marshyangdi is the way the next rapid follows hard on the last – no time to savor the successful running of a classic Grade IV because you’re already fast maneuvering to line up to look down on the one now ahead.
The mountains reflect in the clear waters. This is perhaps the most visually awe-inspiring white water encounter in Nepal. Mt. Manaslu (8,163m.) and Lamjung Himal (6,931m.) grace the scene from the head of the valley and the total effect is to feel glad (and lucky!) to be alive! The logistics require an interesting mix of using porters to the put-in and vehicle back up after the first days rafting. This ensures lightly laden self-bailing farts are at their most maneuverable and this river is best run with safety procedures involving kayaks.
