For most introductory treks, no prior experience is necessary. You just need a good level of fitness and a willingness to be in the mountains. For more challenging peaks and mountain climbing, we also provide the training with the use of ropes and snow, ice and rock climbing techniques. For the serious 8,000m+ mountaineering expeditions, you require good climbing techniques and prior experience. We take your full mountaineering profile into account to determine if you are ready to try these. The difficulty levels are mentioned with each trip.

 

3. What are the best times of the year for trekking?

The best trekking seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the weather is stable, and the views are spectacular. While winter and monsoon treks are also possible, they require more preparation and flexibility. Most high altitude climbing over 8,000m are open for spring and autumn only.

 

4. Are permits or guides required for trekking?

Yes, permits and Nepali guides are required for all trekking regions and all climbing expeditions. We handle all necessary permits, including trekking, conservation area, and climbing permits.

The trip cost typically includes accommodations, meals during the trek, guide and porter services, permits, and transportation within Nepal as well as the gears for high altitude climbing. Our guides are trained to recognize the symptoms of altitude sickness and will monitor your health closely. We follow a “climb high, sleep low” strategy to acclimatize gradually and carry oxygen and first aid kits. In severe cases, we will arrange for evacuation.
