Trekking and Trekking Peaks
We offer trekking, or for the more adventurous, trekking peaks. The Nepali term “trekking peak” can be misleading, as it refers to peaks specially designated by the Nepali authorities to have low peak fees, rather than making a statement on the difficulty of the climb. Indeed, while some are suitable for guided beginners, others pose challenges for accomplished alpinists, and all require basic mountaineering equipment. These climbs are cost effective, relatively low risk and are very important first steps if you want to do higher altitude mountaineering. You needn’t be experienced, but you need a good level of fitness and a willingness to be in the mountains. Here, we offer Himalayan treks to Everest base camp during which you can attempt peaks such as Mera Peak (6330m) and Lhakpa Ri (7045m). These are non technical climbs at altitude and are physically challenging.
We also offer rock climbing in Nepal, so you can enjoy our rock and gain a basic knowledge of ropework.
Introductory / Intermediate Climbing
If you have some basic climbing experience, our technical climbing guides can build your skills for your own climbing in Nepal. You will be instructed in the use of axes, crampons and ropes, navigation, glacial travel, crevasse rescue and generally how to be safe while climbing snow, rock and ice. We instruct on the use of snow anchors, introductory ice climbing (waterfall ice) & avalanche awareness.
Intermediate / Challenging Climbing
If you are ready to put some dedicated work into your technical climbing skills, and put them into practice on famous peaks such as Lobuje East, Pokhalde and Island Peak, then join us on our technical mountaineering course around the Everest (Khumbu) valley, climbing these technical peaks and crossing high passes that require extensive use of ropes and snow, ice and rock climbing techniques.
Alternatively, climb a technical peak with the assistance of one of our guides.
8000m Expeditions and Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) Expedition
These expeditions are difficult challenges. You should be in good physical condition, have good climbing techniques and experience and you will need to have performed well at altitude in the past. We will take your full mountaineering profile into account to determine if you are ready to try for the summit the world’s highest mountains, including Sagarmatha (Mt Everest). We take trips to the legendary mountains of Shishapangma, K2, Cho Oyu, Makalu, Kunchenjunga, Lhotse, Dhaulagiri and Sagarmatha. You will be using oxygen with our guidance.
