Trip Overview

Himlung Himal (7126m) is situated in one of the remote parts of Nepal-Tibet border, Narphu valley west of Nepal. This mountain is becoming popular among the climbing expedition lovers.

Nepal opened the Himlung Himal climbing expedition after 1992. This expedition combines high peaks and passes, glaciers, remote villages, narrow canyons, lovely forests, amazing rock formations, yaks, Monastery and unique ethnically Tibetan cultures. Closed to trekkers until late 2002, very few outsiders have explored these virtually untouched villages or climbed the many 7000 meter peaks surrounding them. Restricted area permits are still needed for trekking or climbing.

Highly recommended!Top Himalaya Guides is run by Tshering Pande Bhote and Chhidar Lama, both highly respected individuals. Tshering was my guide on Everest in 2004 and Chhidar is on the Board of WHY, an educational charity for Bhote people that I started in 2012. They both contribute considerably to their community and run an honest and professional business. Both have been working in Norway during the summer season for many years now and are well aquinted to Scandinavian life and habits.

Tshering is as legit as they come! We had the pleasure of spending 3 days climbing with him near Kathmandu and had a phenomenal time! Heโ€™s an incredibly experienced mountain guide who was always happy to share his knowledge with us but at the same time very humble. Also just a funny dude lol. Would definitely go back for more climbing/mountaineering with him.

My partner and I had a great trek and climbing experience with Top Himalaya Guides.Participated on Himalaya Five Peaks Technical Climbing Course with Ama Dablam, which offered a great trek through the Khumbu valley and other nearby valleys, in addition to climbing several peaks. The highlight of the tour was to climb Ama Dablam. The service was exceptional, way above what we expected. The owner Tshering Pande Bhote is really well connected and provides a really flexible itinerary to adapt to changes that might occur. We can highly recommend using Top Himalaya Guides!
