Khopra Trek via Ghorepani

Trip Overview

This spectacular adventure treks through the Annapurna foothills to the wild and remote Khopra Ridge โ€“ one of the best vantage points in the Himalaya. We stay in tea houses while on the main trail but after we leave the main trail at Tadapani we stay in the community lodges.

Khopra Ridge (3700m) is spectacular adventure treks. We head through remote alpine terrain to Bayeli, before ascending to Khopra Ridge. Here we view mighty peaks of Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Vara Shikhar and Tukuche. On return rejoin trail at Ghorepani and follow the Burungdi khola to Nayapool.

Itinerary

  • Flight to Pokhara

    Fly to Pokhara and start the trek.

    Days 01

  • Trek to Ghandruk and Bayeli

    Trek to Ghandruk, then proceed through remote alpine terrain to Bayeli.

    Days 2-4

  • Ascend to Khopra Ridge

    Ascend to Khopra Ridge for views of Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Vara Shikhar, and Tukuche.

    Days 5-7

  • Return Trek

    Descend through alpine pastures, oak forests, and rhododendrons to Swanta, Fulbari, and Poon Hill for sunrise.

    Days 8-10

  • Rejoin Main Trail

    Rejoin the main trail at Ghorepani and follow Burungdi Khola to Nayapool.

    Days 11-12

  • End of Trek

    Complete the trek and return to Pokhara.

  • All airport/hotel transfers.
  • Accommodation in Kathmandu (2 night) and pokhara (1 night) with bed and breakfast basis.
  • Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara to Kathmandu.
  • All trekking permits and TIMS card. NNMGA guides.

  • Personal trekking gears.
  • International round-trip airfare to and from Kathmandu.
  • Lunch and evening meals in Kathmandu and pokhara (and also in the case of early return from mountain than the scheduled itinerary).
  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, early return from mountain (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary Nepal Visa fee.
  • Tips for Guides and other staffs.
  • Personal communications (Satellite phone, phone, fax, email).
  • Personal expenses (phone calls, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, bottle water, shower, heater, etc.).
  • Nepal Custom Duties.
  • Personal travel /medical/cancellation/rescue insurance Any rescue costs or costs of early departure from the expedition.

Highly recommended!Top Himalaya Guides is run by Tshering Pande Bhote and Chhidar Lama, both highly respected individuals. Tshering was my guide on Everest in 2004 and Chhidar is on the Board of WHY, an educational charity for Bhote people that I started in 2012. They both contribute considerably to their community and run an honest and professional business.Both have been working in Norway during the summer season for many years now and are well aquinted to Scandinavian life and habits.

Tshering is as legit as they come! We had the pleasure of spending 3 days climbing with him near Kathmandu and had a phenomenal time! Heโ€™s an incredibly experienced mountain guide who was always happy to share his knowledge with us but at the same time very humble. Also just a funny dude lol. Would definitely go back for more climbing/mountaineering with him.

My partner and I had a great trek and climbing experience with Top Himalaya Guides.Participated on Himalaya Five Peaks Technical Climbing Course with Ama Dablam, which offered a great trek through the Khumbu valley and other nearby valleys, in addition to climbing several peaks.
